<- mood!
We've had people phone us looking for someone not living here, and tell them they've got the wrong number. These people usually don't call back. Today, though, we got a call from some idiot who just couldn't seem to understand her friend DID NOT live at our house. I had no idea why she couldn't figure this out.

My mom and I were talking, and then the phone started ringing. Mom got it, and ended up telling this woman "I'm sorry, there's no one named Jen here. You've got the wrong number. Bye." Not even 10 seconds after she hung up, the phone rang again, and I got it.

Me: Hello?
Idiot: Hi, Jen?
Me: Uhm, no.
Idiot: Oh, is Jen there?
Me: Sorry, there's no one named Jen here. You've got the wrong number.
Idiot: Huh? Jen's not there?
Me: No. No one named Jen lives here. You have the WRONG number.
Idiot: Did I dial ###-####?

I'm wondering at this point how this idiot got our number, and who the hell Jen is. I'm also not fond of telling people they have dialed our number (and have been told not to), because there is/was supposedly some sort of phone scam happening around here that involved using your number. Not sure if it's true or not, but I'd rather not screw around.

Me: Uh...pardon me?
Idiot: I dialed ###-####, right?
Me: Sorry, I don't think so.
Idiot: But, I think I DID dial ###-

I hung up at that point. I'm not that fond of talking to strangers on the phone, especially when they don't listen.

Mom: Was it that girl again?
Me: Yes, and I just hung up on her in mid-sentence. She was asking for Jen, and if she dialed our number correctly.
Mom: Oh, wow. If she ca--(phone rings).
Me: For fuck's sake.
Mom: Okay, I'LL get it this time.

Mom picks up the phone. She looked a bit pissed off at this point.

Mom: Hello? ...NO. You have the WRONG NUMBER. ...NO. ...Yes, I'm sorry about that, but there is no one named Jen here. ...Yes, you called that number, but it is WRONG. There is no one named Jen living here. ...NO. ...Yes, that IS the number you called, but there is NO ONE named Jen here. ...YES. ...okay, GOOD BYE.
Me: Was it her AGAIN?
Mom: Yes. And if she calls back AGAIN, I'm giving her an earful!

She didn't call back. I decided to dial *69 to find out the phone number of the person who called us. Wrote it down, and now I have no idea what to do with it. Maybe I should make my own speshal phone calls.
