Yeah, starting up another one before I finish off the Master System project. Whoo.
Anyway, in short, got one off half.com for $30, supposedly including a Genesis system with it but no AC adapter or cables. Unfortunately it doesn't say which model I'm getting of
either system. With any luck it'll be a Model 2 so I can snap it onto my Genesis and make the ultimate unholy hybrid machine, the Sega Genesis 32X CD. I've got like 9 AC adapters sitting around here, so unless there's some vitally important component I'm not aware of, I can be playing some Sonic CD in no time flat.
UPDATE 1/16/08: Arrived today. Both Genesis and Sega CD are model 2's, which is perfect for my purposes. Sadly, the plug for the Model 2 does not fit with either the CDX OR Genesis AC adapters I have available (why does Sega keep swapping the plug size back and forth for every console they make? It's ANNOYING.). However, I was able to confirm the thing works by plugging in the Master System's AC adapter. I'll have to order a dedicated Sega CD one off Sega-Parts when I get some cash.
But for now, sitting atop my VCR and NES is the fully assembled Unholy Hybrid Machine, currently running on idle to let the internal battery recharge (for game-saving purposes).
VERY LATE UPDATE: Bought the AC adapter, which is working great, and I have two games for the thing with more on the way.
